This story began with a strange experience. I was with my children and my father on a trip upstate in Pa. We were walking through the forest and admiring the huge tall pines. Almost seemed like a cathedral. I saw something from the corner of my eyes and thought I was seeing an interaction, one of those historical ones. I asked my dad if he saw the Frenchmen and iNdians. He wold my I was seeing things. Then he wanted to walk out to the overlook. I couldn't more. When he asked me why, I said "They threw me over." He shook his head and took the boys to see them. When he returned, he shook his head. He said there was a sign about Indian children being thrown to their deaths by French and indians,
For years, this experience stayed with me and also helped me understand why I hated to stand on a heighth when someone was with me. I had no problem when alone. Finally, the characters came to me and I began to write the story. Both the hero and the heroine make trips into the past perhaps in dreams or not. I really had a great time writing this story.
