Meandering on Monday with Janet Lane Walters #MFRWAuthor #BWLPublishingLTD #amwriting #Poetry #Reading
Meander 1 Poem -- The Hall of Mirrors --
Glass panels reflecting her.
Rach expanse a different view.
Here she's thin and there she's fat.
Her top and bottom don't connect;
She wanders through the reflections
Other thoughts, other forms
But never one her own,
A hall of mirrors
Shifting her. Blending her
Distorting dewy dreams,
She can't get out
'til she finds the one
That mirrors her own form.
Meander 2 Reading -- I'm writing a romance so I don't read romances during this time. I pulled up several books on my Kindle to read during the time when I'm rough drafting. The books are the Beast Master series by Andre Norton. What amazes me is that the first of these books and the second were written more than fifty years ago and they read as smoothly as they did when I first found them. I would like that to happen to books I've written - for someone to find them years later and believe they could relate to the characters and the stories as if they were written today. I'll probably never reach that goal but my hat's off to Andre Norton for the pleasure she's brought me over the years.
Meander 3 Writing -- Have begun Forgotten Dreams, the rough draft that is and while I know the book will grow what I must do nowis get the story down. I don't worry about the little details and the nuances during this draft. It's get the story down. Then I can go back and make it closer to the perfect story I want to write.
