I somehow manage to get involved in series, that is writing them. Somehow one story turns into another and then there's a series. Two of my series feature nurses, doctors and other characters who work in the medical field I'll share a few of these today. If my guest who was supposed to be here Friday and Saturday doesn't show for Saturday and Sunday, I'll share some other series.

Moon Child - This series was born because I wondered if every heroine was born when the Sun was in the sign Cancer and the heroes hit the other signs. So far there's a Cancer - Cancer make up, A cancer - Aries, A Cancer -Taurus. I'm currently working on Cancer - Gemini.  I have the characters in mind for Cancer - Leo and For Cancer - Virgo. They will make their appearance sometime in the future. This series  takes place in Fern Lake and so there are some common places in the stories.  Here's a look at the blurbs.

Their meeting is complicated by her labor and driving her to the hospital. An attempted cheek kiss lands on her mouth and those old feelings resurface.

Dana Collins responds to the kiss but Simon walked away ten years before when she refused to go all the way. In those ten years he has never tried to reach her. Her marriage to his cousin lasted less than two years and she knew she’d made a mistake.

Melodic Dreams

 When Maria and a child she says is his arrives on Jay’s doorsteps, he is in the middle of composing a musical. Though the four year old has his eyes, Jay can’t be sure this isn’t a scam. He believes his dead wife took steps to rid herself of the child. A need for his assistance to help with childcare while she works is Maria’s reason for arriving in Fern Lake. She also believes her nephew should know his father. Can Jay accept and learn to love his child and deal with the attraction to a woman who physically looks like his dead wife? Can Maria deal with his trust issues and a threat from her own family?

Sunday - My Series. A Sudden Seduction #MFRWauthor #Suspense

Matt's story in the Seduction series was to be the last. He was the fourth member of the Grantley family to suffer the curse. Was the seduction a sudden one or was he really under the family curse. Matt is a playboy who has no desire for marriage. He sees his sibs marrying and this is not for him. That is until an accident and a concussion puts him into the heroine's space. What he doesn't remember that years ago, when they were in high school, she asked him out and he acted like a real jerk as teenage boys can be. When he went to apologize, she had moved and he forgot about her. When knowledge finally comes, he has to eat a lot of crow because's he's fallen in love and once again he can't find her.

Actually the series didn't end with Matt's story since my publisher combined the first three stories into a single print volume and Matt was left alone. I couldn't allow that to happen so there are two more stories to talk about.

Sunday - My Series - A Second Seduction #MFRWauthor

A Second Seduction is the third book in the Seduction Series.

Mark Blakefield gets the shock of his life when he looks at pictures his friend took at a Vermont Inn where he stayed-It's the girl he fell in love with in college-and her son, who looks remarkably familiar.

A photograph sends Mark to find his college sweetheart who vanished out of his life and dropped out of college. The boy in the picture looks like pictures of him as a boy and he believes her son is his. Since she left he's been a playboy kind of guy and a victim of the Blakefield curse. "Once a Blakefield finds their perfect match there can be no other." He finds her at an inn she inherited from her father and sets out to woo her again. Passion erupts but can it last?

Sunday - My Series - A Silken Seduction #MFRWauthor

This is the second of the Seduction Series and was fun to write. Megan's rules come crashing down when she's talked into picking up the magazine group's photographer at the airport. He's had an accident on a shoot and has a broken leg. She feels sorry for him and she also gets into some interesting situations when she agrees to help him until he can reach his sister. Of course, Steven wished his sister will stay away from the phone for a long time. The following is the blurb.

Megan had a set of life rules that she had to constantly remind herself of whenever Steve Morgan was around. From the time he’d come to work at the magazine, she’d wanted him in the worst kind of way. The problem was, she wanted forever and Steve only wanted for a while.

Megan is different from her sister, but lust has a way of turning into love.

Enjoyed writing about this magazine called Good Lookin' that explores clothes and all things beauty and also finding a great hero and bringing my heroine a love.

Sunday - My Series - Interconnected Characters - A Savory Seduction

 One day, a family of four siblings caught my attention. Not sure what triggered them but I realized I wanted to tell the story of these siblings. The series grew to six by dragging in some of their friends. These are novellas and other than the characters and their friends, there is a magazine connection. Four of them are editors of magazines, the overall publisher being their father.

The first story in the series is A Savory Seduction- The heroine edits a magazine called Good Cookin' and she sets out to feature a restaurant across the river in a Hudson Valley town. The restaurant is called Five Cuisines. To complicate this is an old family feud between her father and his mother. The hero rejects her attempt to keep his mother happy but the heroine doesn't give up. Her first sight of him is when she is staying at a friend's apartment and she watches him exercising on the ground floor outside area of his apartment. The attraction heats up and they connect without knowing the connection.

The characters in these stories may or may not appear in the other stories in the series but the connection is family and the magazines. I had a lot of fun with this series originally thought of as just four stories but the publisher put the first three out as a set in paper and that left one hero alone. So friends were drafted for stories five and six.

A Savory Seduction allowed me to explore a love of food and a love of love.

Sunday - My Series - Katherine Miller Mysteries

The series began as one story first titled So We Walk On Eggshells. Somewhere along the way the book was retitled by me called Murder and Mint Tea. I didn't expect this to become a series. Actually, the book was inspired by a neighbor who was not very nice and I wanted to kill her. Knowing this wasn't the thing to do, I planned the book. I sent it out to a few places and ran into a snag. Seems publishers were looking for series and I had no intention of writing one. I put it in a book in the basement and returned to work as a nurse.The neighbor moved and I still didn't like her. I was cleaning the basement and found the book and thought this isn't a bad story but it needs help. The story was told in the first person and I did what a lot of first person writers do. That's going off on tangents that may have much to say about the character ut nothing to do with the book.

I rewrote the book and then found the publishing world had changed so I sent it to an electronic publisher and the book really sold well in the days of floppy discs. It's still selling. Was nominated for an award but didn't win. That's okay since it was a finalists. Garnered a lot of reviews and was made into an audio book. Made a lot of money there.

The book became a series when people kept asking me to write another. So here's a bit about Murder and Mint Tea. The story introduces a number of characters who come into other books of the series but the main one is Robespierre Katherine's Maine Coon cat who was a real cat who lived with this writer for fifteen years.

A trip across the street during a winter snow storm and Katherine misses a curb ending with a broken leg. While she is in the hospital, her son rents the first floor apartment in her house. Katherine lives on the second floor since she can see the Hudson River from there. This tenant, Rachel begins to annoy many of the neighbors who are Katherine's friends. She even puts the make on Katherine's son. When Katherine finds Rachel's body in her yard and sees the weapon, she realizes the fancy knife was a Christmas present from a neighbor to all her near and dear. Katherine removes the weapon and throws it in the river. Then she must discover the murderer and pray it isn't one of her friends or family member.

My Series - Affinities _ Confrontation #MFRWauthor

The final book in the Affinities Series shows the characters having control of their powers. They must face all of their enemies in this segment of the story. I did find it hard, not to write the ending, but to say goodbye to this group of young people. The groupings ehre are the same yet different, showing how each of the four affinities has to face a challenge.

They must defeat not only the four who have talents like theirs and are banded together, but Dom Senet and He Who Walks With Evil. There are also those doms and domas who have been corrupted by Dom Senet. They must also see that those who should be the heirs to the rulers of the four princedoms are able to take their places.

Finding all the loose ends is a must in writing the final book of a series and I certainly hope I have. Could the series have gone on. Probably but any future stories would have been different since the characters are reaching the end of their teen years and would become older and have different lives. Who knows. If one had more time and the ideas came, there could be sequels or prequels. Who knows.

My Series - Affinities Searches - Book Three #MFRWauthor

Searches is the third book of the series and here, the last two focus characters are introduces. There are eight characters viewpoints, two for each affinity. Why? There were things happening elsewhere in this world that I needed to tell and thus these characters were born and given a voice,

Searches divides the groups into three sets, each with a discovery to make. One group seeks the others of the affinities who need to be found to complete so there are sixteen with affinities. Another group seeks the jewels that enhance their powers. The third group seeks the missing talismans. There are adventures, near captures and matters to be learned,

The blurb says. " Having found a safe place in a tower fortress, the friends set out to find what they need to defeat Dom Senet and He Who Walks With Evil.

In this segment the characters learn Dom Senet has somehow rescued an evil one who comes from the land their ancestors fled years ago. This book leads to the final book making sure the characters have the things they need to give them the chance to win.

Sunday - My Series Affinities - Havens - Janet Lane Walters #MFRWauthor

Havens is the second book in the series and this time a new view point character is added because there are friends from the city who need rescued. The story starts with four of the main characters traveling through a winter world to find a haven with the grandmother of Zand who learned he must die to save his life. The four Ash, Ky, Jay and Bran finally find a place where they are safe and can learn how to use their affinities.

Back in the city, Zand sees his step-mother and her sons sent from the city relieving him of one of the groups seeking his life. But Dom Senet the major villain remains a threat to Zand. The way to make it appear he has died arises and he joins the four after a healing that prevents the very threatening death.

But the friends they left in the city are under threat. One of the street children turns on her rescuer through jealousy over not having an affinity and a feeling of love. Val and Geni now need rescued from the city. The four and Zand return to the city. But the rescue causes them to seek another haven. And during this time them learn about a group of four with affinities who have been corrupted by Dom Senet.
