New Release Seppal Meeting of Three and Three #MFRWHooks #BWLAuthor #fantasy #Healer #Warrior #Seer

Join the authors at MFRWHooks here  http://mfrwbookhooks.blogspot.com for some great excerpts. Mine is found at eclecticwriter.blogspot.com and is a New Release. The 3 and 3 first meeting.

Blurb:

In Seppal, the prophecy has been heard and the Three and Three are awaited.

Ranal’s dead mam once told him one day he would learn why he had been born. He has found two companions, boys like himself who have no home and become seaweed gatherers like he has been. His two friends are developing strange skill. He can see no change in himself but he desires a sword. Then they will be three, Seer, Healer and Warrior

Amera returns to the clan after spending the summer with the king windsteed stallion and six yearlings. What she finds is the slaughtered herd and also the clan. Only one person remains barely alive and tells her Bethera, her cousin and almost sister has been taken by the priestesses and their guards. Not knowing what to do, Amera follows the king stallion to a sheltered glen and a huge cave complex. When the stallion calls her, she follows him to the priestesses’ keep and manages to rescue her cousin and another young girl. During the next few years, her friends develop talents and are becoming the Seer and the Healer. Amera wants to become the warrior but she can’t imagine how she can gain a sword.

Now the Three and Three must join to bring justice, healing, order and change to Seppal.

Excerpt:

The three unsaddled windsteeds raced after the galloping king stallion. As the ruins grew closer, Amera saw three men leave the opening of the large room. Young, tall and dark-haired. Who were they? As she approached she studied them. Their green eyes were much like hers and her companions. The unsaddled windsteeds arrived to face the men.

     “Who are you?” Amera asked.

“We are Three,” one said. “Who are you?”

“We are also Three. I am Amera, Warrior.” She indicated her companions. “Bethera, Healer. Ciera, Seer.”

The young man laughed. “Ranal, Warrior. Tegal, Healer and Seval, Seer. Will you join us for a meal? Alas, we have little food.”

Amera nodded. “We will. Our saddlebags are full. Spend time with your windsteeds. You have been chosen.” She dismounted and lifted her packs before unsaddling her steed. “We will await you inside.”

Bethera and Ciera followed her example. The three entered the large partially roofed room.

“Do we trust them?” Bethera asked.

“They are chosen to be riders,” Amera said. “We have no choice.” She set about tending to the fire.

BLURB:
Ginny’s new job as patient care coordinator at a suburban hospital is a dream come true. She can raise her daughter and young niece away from the city.

The older orthopedic surgeon who recruited her helps make the move easier. His stroke brings his son, another surgeon home to take over his father’s practice. Unfortunately, Ginny remembers him from an evening encounter at the city hospital where she worked. They had words. He also remembers that night.

They clash but beneath the anger, there is an attraction. Blake wants her in his bed and attempts to romance her. Then he discovers he wants her forever and must eat a lot of crow

EXCERPT:
A rap on the window broke into her reverie. A grinning Annette peered through the glass. "Girl, quit your dawdling. Young Dr. Marshall has arrived." She pressed a hand to her chest. "He's a man for every woman's fantasy."
Ginny shook her head. She pictured the older Dr. Marshall, subtracted years and added hair. Pleasant. Maybe cute, but hardly fantasy material. She rose. "I'm on my way. Wouldn't want him to accuse me of ignoring him."
"Won't happen. He seems as nice as his dad. Run, don't walk. Rescue him before Val drowns him in sweetness."
Ginny frowned. Val ... Sweet ... impossible. The unit's secretary was a mistress of the rude put-down.
When Ginny turned the corner, she stopped short. A barely contained urge to run in the opposite direction caused her to approach the desk with slow, measured steps. Young Dr. Marshall was tall, handsome ... and black. He was also the resident who two years ago had questioned her nursing judgment. Though she had been vindicated a patient had suffered needless pain.
Her hands curled into fists. Dr. Marshall laughed at something Val said and then turned to Lisa. The knot in Ginny's abdomen swelled into her chest. No way, she thought. She wouldn't allow this man or anyone to detour her from her chosen road. She plastered a smile on her face that she knew didn't match the hostility she felt.

"Dr. Marshall, I'm Ms. Barr, Patient Care Coordinator for the unit. Welcome to Hudson View."

Meandering on Monday with Janet Lane Walters #MFRWAuthor #BWL Publishing #Poem #Writing

Meander 1 Poem _ Dallas

Found this while I was looking at some old poems

Assassin's town
Where our dreams
Were shot down.
Where the better
Fell to earth.
Took our dreams
And left us.
Reality
Gone the scent of magic
Gon the gay years
Ever drudging from now on
Dallas
Assassin's town

Meander 2 _Meeting - Today we had our monthly meeting with the new officers. Hope things will all go as they planned. Also learned though I paid my chapter dues the chapter never received them. Must get onto RWA about this. First find the thing that says I paid and send it to John. Sure hope all this gets straightened out.

Meander 3  Writing - Really feel great. One chapter to clean up and I can send Forgotten Dreams off. Then I can get with the next book. Lines of Fire Challenged.

Meandering On Monday with Janet Lane Walters #MFRWauthor #BWLPublishing #Poetry #Writing #Promoting

Meander 1  Poem --

I yearn so for seclusion
A way to shut the stimuli.
I'd like a respite
From the days
And a turning from the nights,
To coffin away those others
"Til I have need of them.

Meander 2 - Meeting - A good Saturday meeting though we do tend to wander around a bit. People are writing, most of us but I worry about one person who is a good writer but has no confidence. That's a shame and I don't know what to do. Good  presentation about Promotion. Hate promoting but it's necessary and I should do more. I will try.

Meander 3 - Writing - Last week was almost a stand still but I did begin a new book but I must finish the one I'm working on and soon. Typing today and every day is a must. Time to stop playing and get to work.

Meandering on Monday with Janet Lane Walters #Poem #Meeting #Writing #MFRWAuthor

 Meander 1 - Poem Writer

I did not choose this path.
I walk, yet I must go
Along the tortured days of life
Sinking deeper into living
With thoughts of lives not my own.
I take this way with open eyes
And hope to find an ending
If not happy at least satisfactory.

Meander 2 _ Meeting. - On Saturday I met with other members of Hudson Valley RWA. For a bitter cold day, the attendance was good. Eight of us gathered around and talked about out contest, and the plans for our spring retreat. We shared where we were on out writing projects and what good or not so great happened in our writing careers. I read a short scene and received so few comments. Made me happy since the story is now on track.

Meander 3 - Writing. I'm finally back on track with my latest opus, Leo, Aquarius Connection. Yesterday morning, I finished a lengthy scene and neglected to write the last part since I'm not sure how the love scene will go. I'll accomplish that on the next round of work.

Meandering On Monday with Janet Lane Walters #MFRWauthor #amwriting #poetry

Meander 1 Poem - Soul
Hidden in grubby darkness
The larva of a person
Wrapped by layers of our learning
It struggles to be free.
Slowly inching through the murk
Its wings spread toward the light.
Soul - Psyche - Butterfly.

Meander 2 - The chapter meeting. Always good to see friends and fellow writers. This week there were 10 of us and talked about the coming contest run by our chapter. Had seventy plus submissions. I do enjoy reading them and doing the scoring. Talked about not being mean and being encouraging.  Also discussed several other things. I must remember for the December meeting to make the brownies Steph liked so much. Two people read. My critiques were on point, I think but very short. Hopefully they helped the writers.

Meader 3 - Still working on The Cancer Capricorn Connection. Am just about finished with the second of four drafts and then it will be on to the revisions. Not tired of the story yet so that's good. When I grow tired of a story I know it's time to send the thing out.

Meandering On Monday with Janet Lane Walters #MFRWauthor #Poem

Meander 1 _Poem - Fallow Fields

Fallow Fields

Fallow fields, weed-filled, choked.
Once wehre lush, once were green.
Now the briars and brambles
Cover unused land.
Neglected - unplowed
Left to stand beneath the sky
To go to seed and not produce.
The farmer comes again to claim,
To plow the unused kland.
Too long it has been waiting
Now only weeds will grow.
Fallow fields and friendships, too
Return to nature and grow wild
And go back to wildness waste.

Meander 2 - A meeting of friends, all writers. Yesterday we had our June luncheon of Hudson Valley Romance Writers. Not all the members were there. Some were missing because of death. Some had other commitments. A few are no more than names on a page. We sat around a round table and mostly talked about writing. Was a fun time and this restaurant has no problem with separate checks. Always a good thing.

Meander 3 - Typing is the order of the next few weeks. A lot to be done. Before I begin another draft of one project I want to have the remaining chapters typed. Also did a read-through of an old mss and realized how much typing will be required to make it write. Almost 90,000 words. Have begun the Cancer Capricorn Connection and have almost 4 chapters rough drafted. Am enjoying writing this.

Meandering On Monday with Janet Lane Walters #MFRWauthor #poetry

Meander 1 - Poem

Statue of Liberty

An icon, she stands, torch held high
On her island pedistal.
Madonna America stared to sea.
Metal eyes unblinking.
Tarnished by weatyer, by vandals
By bird, salt ocean spray.
Curious crowds on boats passing by
Call to her eagerly, offer their dreams.
She stands and she gazes with unseeing eyes
A statue, a symbol - blind eyes and deaf ears.
Madonna America, what do you mean?

Meander 2 - Meeting - A good meeting of the chapter today. Talked about the coming retreat and what will be done. Many will bring their laptops and type away. I will bring clipboard and pens and paper. Maybe I'll be on a revision segment. The time is a month away. Been thinking about some of the members and their expectations. Many are writing for money. Perhaps one or more will succeed and perpahs none will. I'm in this for the long haul. Not making much money but enjoying what I do. If you really like what you're doing you will do it.

Meander 3 - Finally finished the sixth of the At First Sight stories - rewriting. I am nearly finished typing four and now that Jude has finished her paperwork that hopefully will bring good to the company, I can start sending the two more that will be finished to her. Must let Jasmin know about the covers. A new bit I'm into the second week and that's using Saturday and Sunday for blog posts and also for promotion. Ugh. Don't like that. Am also working on the missing pages of Kathy's story. Some sounds good, some rough.
