The characters who are rivals have been shown in the opening segment of the plot. They need to be shown as having equal strengths and weaknesses. During the second plase they should be shown in several battles to win the prize. Using their strengths and weaknesses, they look to be perhaps in a tie. This rivalry must build to each encounter raising the stakes as they head to the conclusion.
