The new cover is first and the old cover second
When I wrote Moon Summoned, I really thought this was the only book I would write in the series now known as Moon Rising. I really enjoyed developing the world and finding the way to bring three women from out world to this new world, not in body but in spirit. One thing many women on the newly created world had was instead of their hair becoming gray or white from age is their hair lightened. Thus the original cover. But then the second book was born - Healwoman. This was during the time when covers always featured o face. I don't have a gene that allows me to envision a cover and Michelle Lee, developed the covers for both these books. Years later suddenly I knew there were to be four more books in the series and I wanted to call the series Moon Rising. The books would be Nilos, Incal, Sappal and Keltoi. I also knew I wanted covers that pulled the series together but once again, I had no idea what I wanted the covers to look like.
I wrote to Jude, My publisher and told her I wanted new covers and that the books needed covers to tie them together. I said they should have a moon on them. That's all I could think of. I asked if Michelle could do something wonderful like she had for other covers. She did. At the opening of this post, I've put the new covers and the old covers for Moon Summoned. I'll do the others tomorrow.
Why am I doing this. I had no one sign up for a two day feature today and tomorrow, so I hate not to have blog posts every weekend.
