When we were children, riddles were fun and interesting. So how does this apply to plotting a story. Riddles are rather like mysteries and solving a mystery is good fun. A good plotted story challenges and interests us. The challenge is for the reader to solve the problem. Things may not be the same as they seem on the surface. So writing a riddle plot is a challenge for the writer and then he or she must challenge the reader. Have you written a mystery. If so, remember things are not always what they seem.
