The ending of the Pursuit Plot can be in two directions, One with the pursued caught and imprisoned in some way. Or with the pursuee escaping and beyond capture. The chase is resolved. Now the prison can be temporary if the characters might enjoy a sequel.
When writing the Pursuit Plot remember to keep the reader off guard. Make the near misses exciting. Even use reversal of who is being chased with skill. Keep things unpredictable. If you use something the reader might expect, find a way to twist it sideways. Remember the chase should never be trite or predictable.
