Meandering on Monday with Janet Lane Walters #MFRWAuthor #BWLAuthor #Reading #Thoughts # Death #Spider #Writing

Meander 1 _ Reading -  Have now reached the end of book 18 of Cherryh's series and am waiting for the next one to arrive. I;ve also been reading a few other things. The Hacker by Nancy Harkness - a nice romance. Temptation on Ocean Drive by Jennifer Probst - a great book with a heroine several times I wanted to shake. Ghost Guardian by S. Peters Davis - A young adult paranormal that had some great elements about a heroine who sees and talks to ghosts and also a romance built -in.

Meander 2 - Death of A Spider - I was sitting in my study getting ready to work on my current work in progress when I heard a blood curdling scream from the kitchen. Then my granddaughter kept yelling. I thought she was being attacked so I grabbed my phone and ran to the kitchen. The attack was at a distance. She stood with the pest spray container she'd purchased. Now this isn't a small spray can. This is a huge container I can't lift and a wand that extends about three feet or more. She stood a dozen feet from the bathroom trying to spray a spider on the far wall. I tried not to laugh but couldn't stop. I wanted to go in and smash the spider but alas, I am not tall enough. Rescue came when her friend, a tall young man entered, took off his sneaker and did the deed. My granddaughter had fled. I had no idea where. Spider demised. She returned and wanted proof of death. Her friend said he wiped it with a tissue and tossed it in the garbage. How do you know it's dead. Panic filled ehr voice. Between butsts of laughter we assured her the great beast was truly squished.

Meander 3 - Writing - Am now in the big re-write phase of Nilos and this is going well. The rough draft came up at 40,000 words plus. Will see what this draft does to the word count.  Could double but probably not but surely more than 60,000 words by the end. Then there will be three more books in the series to finish. We'll see how this goes.
