Friday - Not the usual post - Christmas Wishes - Janet Lane Walters #BWLAuthor #MFRWAuthor #Christmas #Wishes

Usually on Friday and Saturday, I have guests but since today is Christmas, this is a day for wishing all who visit the blog a Merry Christmas. This year Christmas is a little different from other years, at least for me. There will be no big family dinner but I will have a short, socially distancing visit from some of my grandchildren. The others are in Florida, except for Ashley who lives with me. Having her here means a lot to me.

For everyone who is separated from their family, remember there is the phone to call those at a distance. I've become used to this since for the past four years, my husband had been ill and going on a trip at Christmas was impossible or even having a large gathering. Looking forward to next year and perhaps a family party will happen. We will see.

So a Merry Christmas to family and friends. Remember the past and dream of the future.

Thursday - Happy Thanksgiving -- Wishes #MFRWauthor #wishes

A change in the usual postings today.  Wishing everyone who reads this a Happy Thanksgiving. I am wishing we all had things to be thankful. Maybe not large things but at least some small things. My wishes for today would be that all people could come together not as strangers, not as aliens but as people who want to reach out and understand the other. Peace would be a great thing to be thankful. The end of disease, poverty and hunger would be another to be thankful. We haven't achieved that yet. Maybe we never will but let's not stop trying and reaching out to each other with smiles and not angry words.
