Tuesday's Writer's Tip - The Rescue Plot #MFRWAuthor #BWLAuthor #Writing #plots #Rescue

The Rescue Plot is one often used.  There is a victim who must be saved. There is a good guy who wants to be the rescuer. There is also the bad guy who wants to keepthe victim. These three characters go from the beginning, through the middle and to the ending.

The good guy carries most of the story. This is the character who does the searching for the victim. There is an attraction between the good guy and the victim. Often this is love of some form. Love of a parent for a child, love of a man for a woman. No matter what the motive for the search, the good guy wants to right a wrong. He or she might have to travel into unfamiliar territory to achieve the rescue.

The bad guy remains in character. He will keep the victim and try as hard as he can. He is often powerful and makes the good guy seem like one fighting a mist. His power is shown through the ways he thwarts the good guy. The stronger he is, the more powerful the story. Often the bad guy is deviously clever.

The victim is the least important character in the story. She is more an object sought to rescue or keep.
