Friday D. V, Stone is visiting and talking about Who She Was Before #MFRWAuthor #contemporary #romance #fantasy #Paranormal

1.     What were you before you became an author? Did this influence your choices as a writer?

I volunteered in New Jersey and Pennsylvania as a former Emergency Medical Technician. At the same time, I worked as a professional EMT in a women’s state prison. Then for several years, I was the proprietor of a coffee shop and a small restaurant/ice cream stand. In the years following, I was a manager in an animal emergency hospital. Finally,  until I retired last year, I held a position in a human medical office.

But there were many other jobs before this longest and the latest list. Everything from driving a dump truck to waiting tables and even as a maid in a motel.

As an author, I think much of our life influences our work. In my Impact Series, definitely the First Responder and restaurant experience.

2.     Are you genre specific or general? I don’t mean major genres but subdivisions or romance, mystery or paranormal.

I am considered multi-genre from contemporary romantic suspense to fantasy and even mid-grade paranormal. Since I read across genres, why not. But the common thread through all my works is love, not only romantic but friends and family and their impact on our lives.

3.     What is your latest release?

My latest book Jazz House is the second Impact book. It’s about a woman who dreamed of becoming a singing star, but how those choices she made nearly destroyed her and the people she’d come to love.

4.     What are you working on now?

Oh, boy. Several pots are bubbling on my stove. I have begun the third Impact book, but I also have an independent fantasy series called Shield-Mates. I’m working on an anthology with several other authors that will be my first venture into a historical adventure with paranormal elements.

5.     Does your reading choices influence your choice of a writing career?

Everything we process, from books to movies and even our relationships, is influential. My biggest influence to start writing was Tolkien, but I read many different types of books, and they all can help you understand your own work.

6.     Where can we find you?

The best way to find me is through my website https://www.dvstoneauthor.com/ or mailing list https://mailchi.mp/3b289d8d7569/d-v-stones-peek-further-and-campfire-crew

However, I am all over social media
