Tuesday's Writer's Tip - Slice of Life stories #BWLAuthor #MFRWAuthor #slice of life #writing

lice of life stories usually do not have a plot. They're a look at the way a character or a group of characters react toeconomic and social disaster. The Grapes of Wrath is an example of this as it follows a family's reaction to dust storms that devistate their lives.

Not having a plot can make writing this kind of story difficult patricularly in keeping the story moving forward. The events portrayed must be vivid. Melodrama can aid in the process. Just be careful when writing slice of life stories not to become boring. This type of story would fall flat.
