The Escape Plot features the captured person wanting and trying to escape. This character must rescue him or herself. The Opening Scene shows the prisoner and why he or she has been made a captive. The outlook isn't good. This character must realize escape is the only chance he or she has to be free. The first scene shows the imprisonment, one that doesn't seem fair.The crime may be real or imaginary. The reader must react to the unfairness of the punishment. The situation seems straightforward. The prisoner now begins to plan for an escape.
