1. Heroes, Heroines, Villains. Which are your
favorite to write?
Villains are so much fun to write. I can make
them range from single minded in their goals to the point of being harmful or I
can make them sadistic and twisted, but always, I give them a reason to be who
they are. Still, heroes and heroines are my favorite to write.
2. Heroes and Heroines. How do you find them? Do
pictures, real life or plain imagination create the man you want every reader
to love? Do they come before the plot or after you have the idea for the story?
The main characters often come to me before the
plot of the story. For me, the starting point is always the characters, and
creating these imperfect people who are good at heart and truly deserve love. Sometimes
stars in movies or music videos give me ideas for what the characters will look
like, other times, the characters appear in my mind, clearly, and I have to
write everything down before the thought and memory fade.
3. Villains or villainesses or an antagonist,
since they don’t always have to be the bad guy or girl. They can be a person
opposed to the hero’s or heroine’s obtaining their goal. How do you choose one?
How do you make them human?
The villains and antagonists I create tend to
have a goal, one they pursue with a selfish, singlemindedness that harms
others. They have forgotten that the suffering they cause to prove their point
of achieve their desires can be just as horrific as the problems they think
they are solving.
4. What is your latest release? Who is the hero,
heroine and or the villain?
Bear’s Dream (Haven
Forest Resort book 1) is my latest book, which is Ellie Ortiz and AJ Shepherd’s
story. Ellie makes decisions quickly and sometimes worries that she’s
being impulsive. She is an amazing cook and kind-hearted. She has a giant dog
named Curtis who she found tied to a tree and starving when she was on a hike
with a friend.
AJ is quiet and serious. He spent a lot of time in the
Shifter Enforcement Army and saw a lot of horrible things which have weighed on
his mind. He and his brother decided to work on opening a resort so shifters
can have a place to celebrate things and run free without worries.
5. What are you working on now?
I am working on book 2 in the Haven Forest Resort series.
This book will feature Rob, the leopard shifter Head of Security at the resort
who had a small part in book 1. I will also be working on completing my
Stranger Creatures series as well as publishing some poems in different
magazines and anthologies.
