Day 1

1. What were you before you became an author? Did this influence your choices as a writer?

Right before I became disabled and could no longer work for other people to earn my living, I was working as a courier for a delivery-only kitchen in lower downtown Denver. I always enjoyed driving. It gave me a lot of time to think about things I wanted to write.

Most of my working life was spent in the medical field. I was a nurse’s aide in a long-term care setting for a cumulative of about 25 years. Later, I was a home care nurse working with special needs kids. My work situations had more influence on the stories I create as C.L. Hart than on those I create as Lil DeVille. (C.L. Hart is my non-erotica writing persona.)

Some people might wonder how I didn’t come up with a few Dirty Doctor playing Erotic Exam with Naughty Nurse scenarios. The type of work I did was a bit too messy for such ideas to spring to mind. Exploding colostomy bags aren’t sexy!

2. Are you genre specific or general? I don’t mean major genres but subdivisions or romance, mystery or paranormal.

Lil enjoys writing naughty fantasy and sci-fi scenarios, but she came back to Earth to create her most recent release.

3. What is your latest release?

It’s a naughty novelette called The Shape of Heat: Awakening. It features a bawdy boss who gets to know his willing (male) bar manager better and three resort workers (one male, two female) who go from being friends to lovers. It has a Happy For Now ending with the promise of more to come.

4. What are you working on now?

I’ve been working on an erotic m/m werewolf story set just after the end of the American Civil War. I’m planning to submit the story to Dragon Soul Press for their forthcoming Beastly Tales anthology.

5. Does your reading choices influence your choice of a writing career?

I honestly don’t read a ton of erotica. However, I’ve read several of Lisabet Sarai’s excellent works, which I enjoy for the well-crafted story, not just for the steamy scenes. My love for erotica was mostly influenced by old sci-fi exploitation movies like Barbarella and Flesh Gordon as well as by the exquisite writing of Anais Nin.
