Tuesday's Writer's Tip - What is Plot #BWLAuthor #MFRWAuthor #writing #Plot

After one has an idea for a story and has developed a group of fascinating characters, the time has come to consider Plot. Characters of interest are important to a story but there also has to be a map to drive these characters to their destination. This is plot.  We've all told stories about incidents that have happened to us. We've also read about true stories that may seem unbelievable. Plot is what makes these stories believable.

Plot is the bones that are assembled in a perfect order to hold the story together. A plot is just a plan is xomething I heard years ago from a writer and it's been part of my writing process. I am plot orientated and I generally see the bones before I give life to the characters.

Plot is a writer's tool and a process to follow the beginning to the end. Removing one element needed will make the story colapse. Many times, I've had to go back and look at the parts of the story and make sure they're positively expressed.

Sometimes plot is like the pieces of a puzzle that have to be fitted into place. If one of the pieces is out of place, the puzzle remains unsolved. So when a writer dreams up a story, the pieces need to fit so the jigsay becomes a real picture.
