Warlock of Westland 1
Sam is an immortal warlock whose life revolves around a failing hardware store in rural Southern Connecticut. His self-imposed isolation is interrupted when the Warlock Council assigns him to help an evil warlock living in his village. The desperate warlock happens to be Sam’s ex-boyfriend from two thousand years ago, Cailte the Cruel.
Cailte hasn’t used that name since the iron age. Now he’s Kevin MacCormack, a recently unemployed stockbroker. Kevin spends his days bewitching the villagers and making potholes for fun. The last thing he needs is a good warlock like Sam cramping his style.
The warlocks must work together to track a dangerous ghost that Kevin accidentally released in Westland. Meanwhile, Sam has fallen in love with Kevin all over again. He’s ready to do anything to make it work, including tolerating Kevin’s self-serving magic. Kevin isn’t as sure that it’s meant to be. The warlocks prepare for eternity with their new apprentices. Kevin urges Sam to follow his dream of opening a dog park in Westland, and together they successfully lobby the town to accept their proposal. The cost of the park threatens to bankrupt the warlocks, so they begin a desperate fundraising campaign.
Things go wrong the night of the apprentice’s transformation ritual when the spell unseals Sam’s ex-wife, the evil witch Morgan. Sam has to explain his two hundred year old previous marriage to Kevin. Meanwhile, Morgan vows to sabotage the warlock’s dog park as revenge for Sam sealing her beneath the Westland woods.
Encouraged by the apprentices, Kevin wrestles with whether he should still propose to Sam. Morgan will either strengthen their commitment to each other, or tear them apart.

In a desperate attempt to get Morgan to abandon her claim to Westland, Kevin asks the Warlock of New Randolph to allow her to move into his town. The warlock agrees on one condition: he wants the construction contract for the Westland dog park. Sam and Kevin scramble to lobby the town bureaucrats to amend the contract before the park opens.
Kevin’s power continues to grow. Sam worries that Kevin will return to his old ways and bewitch the village to serve him. Sam and Duck secretly begin work on binding spells for Kevin and Morgan as insurance against the powerful witches.
