Friday Leona Bushman is visiting today Talking About Who She Was Before #MFRWauthor #Firefighter #EMT

1.       What were you in your life before you became a writer? Did this influence your writing?
I have done many things. Firefighter, EMT, realtor, courtesy clerk, bookkeeper for insurance company then licensed agent as well, and a mom. It’s helped me to be able to write about a lot of types of people because I saw them all.

2.       Are your genre specific or general? Why? I don't mean genres like romance, mystery, fantasy etc. There are many subgenres of the above.

I have a large PNR selection from witches to time travel, but I also have historicals, like Victorian and medieval, and science fiction and steampunk and fantasy. I even have urban fantasy and horror writing under LJ Bushman which are not romance. I love to read all types of books, so that’s what I write. I am putting out 3-4 Victorians this year, and 5 PNRs at least, so they are my focus.

3.       Did your reading choices have anything to do with your choice of a genre or genres?
Yes. LOL as I said above, I love to read. And within all the genres and subgenres that I write in, there is almost always a bit of suspense and justice. Justice is the bottom line. I’m a big believer in right winning out…even if not in a traditional sense.

4. What's your latest release?  My latest release is Evil in the Highlands, and releasing in March is Darkest Death.

5. What are you working on now?  Darkest Death is being readied for publication, with Darkest Summer and The Witch of Indigo Bayou being worked on in tandem.

6. Where can we find you?
