The Eclectic Writer is about writing and the things that effect a writer. About my books and those of others.

Tuesday's Writer's Tip - The Hook #MFRWauthor #writing #writer'stip
The scene is going great but you can't extend a single scene to make a book. You need to find a way to end the scene and draw the reader to turn the page. What do you do?
You must find some kind of a disaster, something to whet the reader's curiosity. What you need is a new development that takes the hero, heroine or villains taste of victory away.
This can be anything. Another character entering the fray. A bit of unexpected news. Now what will the focus character do now?
And there you have the draw to keep the reader reading and to keep the character or characters off guard.
